I also wear a mask at all times. Between sessions, I follow a procedure for cleaning and sanitizing the massage room.
People in Minnesota are required to wear a face covering in all indoor businesses and public indoor spaces, unless alone, per the Governor’s Executive Order. Additionally, workers are required to wear a face covering when working outdoors in situations where social distancing cannot be maintained. Research has shown that use of face coverings can greatly reduce the risk of infection when combined with other prevention efforts such as social distancing and hand hygiene.
The AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) has provided safety information to massage therapists, including practitioner hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing protocols for the massage room, and use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including masks.
